Mt. Elbert Canoe & Kayak Ltd. would like to invite you, your family, and friends to explore beautiful Twin Lakes, Colorado. Whether you're a local, driving over Independence Pass from Aspen, or trying to get out of Denver's heat, you'll want to spend a day where the temperature doesn't go above 79 degrees. We have everything from camping, hiking, fishing, biking, and boating. If you ask us, we happen to think the best way to enjoy it all, is from the water. We now serve both Twin Lakes and Turquoise Reservoirs. Please see our Fare Harbor Reservation Feature to Book either Twin Lakes or Turquois Reservoirs. Walk In's are always welcome, but you'll want to make a reservation to assure you get a boat. Mt. Elbert Canoe will supply the canoe, single/tandem kayak, instructions, car straps/pads, paddles, oars, life jackets, safety horn, anchor and PFDs. All you need to do is make a reservation. Pack a picnic lunch. Bring your fishing gear, a hat, rain jacket, plenty of water and a smile. Don't forget your sunscreen.
Old Town Guide 160 – Seats 2 to 4 people.
One of Old Town's favorites. At 16’ the Guide 160 is known for its durability. This canoe features a unique cross-section and stabilizing chines which allow the Guide to deliver exceptional stability. Its sharp entry provides for surprisingly efficient paddling. Stable enough for fishing or nature watching, yet versatile enough for family outings the Guide 160 is a great option for recreational paddlers. ( Ask your outfitter if four people will fit. Or if you can bring your dog. ) Did I mention, it comes with seats and backrests? Canoeing has embraced comfort. Paddles, throwable floatation seat pad, and PFD ( Personal Floatation Device ) included. Fishermen, please ask for an anchor. The minimum age and weight requirements for a child is 3 years old and over 30 pounds. We have doggy PFDs for your pooch!

Old Town VAPOR 12XT – Seats 1 Person
Designed to carry a load, the Vapor 12XT is great for paddlers looking for a roomy cockpit and added volume. Extremely stable. This kayak can perform well even if it's loaded with gear. This boat is equipped with an adjustable Comfort Flex Seat with added back padding, Support Track foot brace system, Stern Seal Click Hatch, Molded cup and paddle holders. Truly, the Vapor 12XT is a great choice for bird waters, anglers, sportsmen, and recreational paddlers alike. Paddle, Floatation seat pad, and PFD ( Personal Floatation Device) included. All you need is a beverage.

Old Town Twin Heron – Seats 2 people
The Twin Heron is a truly unique tandem ( two-person ) kayak. Featuring the innovative Auto Trim Hull, the Twin Heron is a tandem that even performs well when paddled solo. The Auto Trim Hull is designed to prevent the bow from popping up when someone is seated solo in the stern seat. And, if that’s not enough, you can completely remove the front seat making it perfect for your fishing gear or your favorite pup. The Twin Heron is a great option for the outdoors family looking for a versatile craft. Comes with two paddles, a floatation seat pad, and two PFD's. ( Personal Floatation Device )

All Boats and equipment are due back at the Shop no later than 5:00 PM.
Reservations must be made 48 hours prior to rental period.
Rental pick-ups will be given a 15 minute grace period. No shows will not be refunded. Please keep our boats clean upon return. It helps get them out faster for the next adventure. We are Dog friendly.
